Overview
Wandrd collects the minimum data needed to provide the service. We do not sell your data, run ads, or profile you.
What we collect
When you create an account, we store your email address. Signing in works with one-time codes sent to that address, so there is no password for us to store. Your travel data (countries, dates, notes) is stored so it syncs across devices. If you enable country detection, your location is resolved to a country by your device's operating system, and we only ever receive the country you are in, never your coordinates. We also collect usage analytics, which we do not use to identify you. If the app crashes or errors, we receive diagnostic reports (device model, operating system, app version, and technical error details) to help us fix problems. These reports are not tied to your identity. You can use the app anonymously without providing any personal information.
What we don't collect
We do not collect precise location history, advertising IDs, cross-app tracking identifiers, contacts, photos, or financial information.
How we store your data
Your data is stored in a secure, encrypted cloud database. Authentication tokens are encrypted in your device's secure keychain. We use industry-standard security measures but cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-party services
We use third-party services for authentication and data storage, map rendering, anonymized analytics, and crash diagnostics. They only receive the data needed for their function and are contractually required to protect it.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. Deleting your account, anonymous or registered, permanently removes all of your data from our servers and is not recoverable; any residual backup copies are purged within 30 days. You can do this yourself from the app's profile settings (see our Delete Account page). Anonymous accounts are also deleted automatically after a year of inactivity. If you are in the EU, you can withdraw consent for location processing at any time and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Notifications
Country arrival notifications are generated locally on your device. We do not send remote notifications or collect push tokens.
Children
Wandrd is not intended for children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect their data. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated through the app before they take effect.
